Rwanda has dismissed reports that it will send a delegation to the Ugandan ruling party, National Resistance Movement (NRM) Delegates’ Conference scheduled for Saturday at Mandela National Stadium in Kampala.

Rogers Mulindwa, the spokesperson for NRM, is quoted in various Ugandan media saying that Rwanda confirmed attendance and would be sending 20 representatives.

"Rwanda/RPF-Inkotanyi never confirmed its attendance to the said NRM conference," said a source from the ruling Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF-Inkotanyi).

"We do not understand why the NRM spokesperson communicated such a wrong message to the Ugandan media," the source added.

The source went on to emphasise that there is no such arrangement of attendance from Rwanda.

"The truth remains that there exists no official communication whatsoever from RPF confirming its attendance to the NRM Conference."

Meanwhile, some members of other Ugandan political parties, whom NRM had earlier said would also be attending as guests, have come out to say they will not attend.
