Sub-zone 5 Women: Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania

BEACH Volleyball women’s national teams have this morning departed for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, ahead of the first round qualifiers for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

The two teams left Kigali Thursday morning, at 11am, aboard a RwandAir flight.

Starting on Friday, the regional sub-Zone 5 qualifiers will be concluding on Sunday, with the top two teams advancing to the next round due next month.

Christophe Mudahinyuka’s teams are widely seen as favourites for the top position in a group that also comprises regional neighbours Uganda, Kenya and hosts Tanzania.

By press time Thursday, the technical meeting was yet to be held to conduct draws of how teams would face each other over the next three days. However, this publication understands that the competition will be played under a round-robin format.

Rwanda will be represented by two teams.
