Would the Festive Season and our Christmas traditions be different if Jesus lived among us? He would’ve turned 2019 this year! We have a good idea of his personality from all the Bible stories but I wonder if his demeanor would have changed over time and how he’d look like today. Would he have aged at all or still be youthful akin to Benjamin Button? 

I imagine a towering figure with a long beard. Suit and Tie or Jeans and Sneakers? Definitely a Jeans and Sneakers kind of guy. Not distressed or ripped though! I think the best part would be knowing what he actually looks like, hence no speculation of whether he’s Black, Brown or whatever. Know how we often joke about what Jesus would do in this or that situation? 

Well, I wonder how he’d celebrate his birthday. Rather than let us throw him party after party, I think he’d throw us all a big party, meaning everybody would be invited, including those whose birthdays fall on or around Christmas. But would we even call it Christmas or Christday? 

I’m sure Event Planners would be queuing up to throw the big bash but knowing Jesus and how he delighted in serving others, he’d probably respectfully decline, then roll his sleeves up and get his hands dirty. I can almost hear millions of guests breaking into "Go Jesus, it’s your Birthday, we gonna party like it’s your Birthday...” and the Birthday Boy smiling politely. 

Maybe he’d clap along or even dance before heading out to cut the cake and that would be some cake. It would break the Guinness Book of Records for most candles! Food wouldn’t be an issue, considering that this is the same man who famously fed over 5,000 with just 5 loaves of bread and two fish! Tastes have evolved but I’m sure he’d cater to vegans and anyone keen on a gluten-free diet. I doubt he’d be surprised if guests begged him to turn water and any soft drinks into wine! Onto birthday presents. 

By now, he would have been gifted everything a man could possibly want and like those newlyweds who ask their guests not to buy them presents but instead donate to their favourite charities, I imagine Jesus would ask us to do the same and donate to soup kitchens, orphanages, hospices and such. After the party, I imagine he’d walk or ride home. 

Seeing as e-bikes are trendy, maybe he’d have one. I imagine he’d live in a big house. Not fancy with surveillance cameras and all that. In fact I don’t think he’d even have a wall fence or security guards. 

Would he have a Tree and Christmas decorations? Probably, but nothing over the top. Would he listen to Christmas Carols? Maybe. Not sure what his preferred genre would be though. 

Almost forgot the most important part. The Christmas Service! He would deliver the Sermon and the Service would be both the most attended and streamed. Which begs the next question. Would there be need for elaborate Christmas Productions, Plays and Movies and would he watch any? You tell me!
