For the first time, the end-of-month concert organised by City of Kigali will be headlined by only gospel artistes.

An array of musicians, including Alexis Dusabe, Dominic Ashimwe, Siloam Choir and Bosco Nshuti, will take part in the free concert scheduled for today, November 29 at Car Free Zone, Nyarugenge Sector, from 5pm.

Both Dusabe and Ashimwe are arguably among the top Christian musicians in Rwanda, known for worship tracks such as; Mfite Umukunzi and Wambereye imfura, respectively. Nshuti is also locally known for singles like; Ibyo Ntunze and Umutima among others.

The free concert series was introduced by the City of Kigali in July this year, to "ensure that people have entertainment after a busy month.”

Speaking to The New Times, Ashimwe said he was glad that gospel music was considered.

"It’s good that the City of Kigali acknowledges the need of city dwellers to enjoy gospel music in such concerts. We’re praying that the souls of those who’ll attend will be restored through different songs that will be performed at the concert,” he added.

"Our fans must expect good performances beyond what we have given them before because, God is promising the best,” he added.

The organisers said the monthly concerts will be extended to other parts of Kigali depending on the will of the citizens.
