Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente has urged prosecutors who have assumed office to ensure justice delivery to all.

Ngirente said this on Monday 25th, at the swearing-in ceremony of three prosecutors who were recently appointed by a cabinet meeting chaired by President Paul Kagame.

The new prosecutors, who were appointed in a cabinet meeting of October 10, are Lieutenant Christine Mukamana, a military prosecutor; Alice Uwase and Donath Habimana.

Uwase and Habimana are both prosecutors at the intermediate level.

In his address to the new court officers, the Premier noted: "I want to remind you that you should always consider and take this oath seriously; by ensuring justice delivery to all and striving for the preservation of the country's good image, as far justice is concerned, in the region and globally.”

He added that: "Crimes have nowadays escalated. I’m requesting the Prosecution to, therefore, add more effort in fighting those crimes, which include cybercrimes, child abuse, and mismanagement of government funds.”

Ngirente also urged the prosecutors to adhere to professional ethics and exercise their duties with diligence, the reason being that their profession "requires respecting the law and human rights.”
