Espoir basketball team Head coach Jean Bahufite wants his side to develop again the culture of winning trophies as it was before. Bahufite recently joined the club after signing a one-year deal.

The Nyamirambo-based side, who won four consecutive league titles from 2012 to 2015, have only won one trophy —  the local edition of the 2017 Genocide Memorial Tournament — in the last four years.

"We want to make sure that this team starts winning trophies consistently. I am buidling a strong team and our target is to be back among the top teams in the country. We will start with the Agaciro basketball tournament.” said Bahufite

The forthcoming Agaciro Basketball Tournament will run from November 22-29 at Amahoro Stadium and Kigali Arena. Espoir start campaign against Patriots on Friday.

In 2016, Bahufite parted ways with Espoir after guiding the Nyamirambo-based side to four successive league and playoffs titles, on top of other trophies, including the 2012 FIBA-Africa Zone V Club Championships.

Teams for Agaciro tourney:

Men: Patriots, REG, APR and Espoir

Women: APR, The Hoops, IPRC-Huye and Ubumwe
