A long line up of artistes and limited time saw U.S-based Rwandan musician, Meddy, real name, Médard Ngabo given only one song for the Saturday festival which saw Wasafi boss Diamond Platinumz and Nigeria star Wizkid crown the show.

Meddy had been listed among the artistes to perform at Wasafi Festival, making him the first Rwandan singer to ever grace the stage but when the time came, he could only perform one song "Slowly” and relinquish the stage.

But as a consolation, the "Nasara” singer was lined up to perform at the after party on Sunday at a Dar-es-Salaam based Elements Club, alongside Diamond himself, Tiwa Savage and Wizkid.

The festival organised by Wasafi Record Label took place at Posta and Kijitonyama playgrounds in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where a huge line up of artistes performed.

The performers included Wizkid who had 15 minutes of stage, Tiwa Savage, Ferooz, Sholo Mwamba, TID, Nyandu Tozi, Jux, Professor Jay, Young Killer, Chin Beez, Amber Lulu, Gigy Money, Chidi Benz, Ruby, Country Boy, DJ Ommy Crazy, Lava Lava, Mboso and Queen Darleen among others.

Wizkid took to the stage with Diamond, performing ‘Baba Lao’ together, before the Nigerian star spoke fondly of Diamond who he described as a brother for life.

Despite the performing only one song, Meddy enjoyed his time on stage, singing along with the fans who seemed to know the song.

Meddy has enjoyed massive success back home and abroad, with a number of hit songs, such as ‘Slowly’, ‘All Night’, ‘Everything’, and ‘Lose Control’ among many others.

A few months ago, the singer performed at two mega concerts in Rwanda including, ‘Kwita Izina’ gala alongside American singer, and record producer Ne-Yo, and other popular Rwandan artistes like Bruce Melodie, Riderman, Charly na Nina, as well as the Youth Connekt concert, which was also graced by performances Patoranking from Nigeria and other Rwandan artistes.
