APR forward Djabel Manishimwe has torn a thigh muscle and will be out for 10 to 15 days.

The Rwanda international limped off the field in the 78th minute during his side’s goalless draw against SC Kiyovu on Friday at Kigali Stadium, and, as a result, he will miss the national team’s two fixtures against Mozambique and Cameroon next week.

Rwanda begin the quest for a ticket to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals on Thursday, November 14, against Mozambique in Maputo before hosting Cameroon in Kigali three days later.

The three countries and Cape Verde make Group F in the AFCON 2021 Qualifiers.

"Manishimwe has suffered a muscle strain in his right leg and he will be out for at least one week. It is not a bad injury,” Amavubi doctor, Patrick Rutamu, told Sunday Sport yesterday.

Manishimwe, 22, joined APR in June after five years with Rayon Sports.
