Nigerian-American star Jidenna to grace Kigali Jazz Junction

Weeks after American music star Jidenna Theodore Mobisson, popularly known as Jidenna, tweeted applauding Rwanda for its first home made smart phone, he is expected in the country to headline Kigali Jazz Junction for this month’s edition.

The highly anticipated performance is scheduled for November 29, at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (formerly Camp Kigali). At the moment, early bird tickets are available at Rwf10,000 (ordinary), Rwf20, 000 (VIP), Rwf25,000 (VVIP), and a VVIP table of 8 people at Rwf200,000.

However, tickets at the gate will go for Rwf15000 (regular), Rwf25000 (VIP), Rwf30000 (VVIP) and Rwf240,000 (VVIP table for eight people).

Tickets are already on sale in different locations around Kigali, and people can get them from any of the selling outlets.

A number of Rwandan artistes including Bruce Melody, Neptunez Band, Nganji & Kings Blues Rock band will curtain-raise the American rapper, whereas DJ Marnaud will join forces with the Nep DJs to give revelers unforgettable show.

Born on May 4 1985, to a Nigerian father and an American mother, Jidenna rose to fame in February 2015, when he released his official first hit single "Classic Man’’, where he featured  Roman Gianarthur, and debuted at number 49 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/ Hip-Hop airplay chart.

The singer, songwriter and producer, is known for songs like, "Bambi”, "Zodi”, "Boomerang”, "Yoga”, and "Particular’’, which are big hits across the globe.

The Kigali Jazz Junction is one of the biggest musical events that have greatly contributed to Rwanda’s economy over the years. It has featured some of Africa’s biggest names like, Zimbabwe’s most renowned cultural icon—that Oliver Mtukudzi, South African songstress Zahara, Nigerian songbird Waje, and the most recent headliner Congolese star Awilo Longomba, among others.
