There will be a lot at stake when APR and Mukura square off in an early clash for the Rwanda Premier League top spot at Kigali Stadium on Sunday. Kick-off 3pm.

Third-placed APR host second-placed Mukura with the teams tied on 14 points and only separated by goal difference.

The two sides trail leaders Police by one point after the latter thumped AS Kigali 3-0 on Saturday afternoon, with forward Dominique Ndayishimiye scoring a sensational hat-trick.

Besides the heated affair for the top spot, APR and Tony Hernandez’s Mukura also look to extend their unbeaten runs to seven matches this season, having won four and drawn twice in their opening six fixtures.

Speaking to Sunday Sport, APR coach Mohamed Adil Erradi said that he has learned ‘so much’ about his opponents and urged his players to step up for the challenge.

"Mukura are a strong group, and have been very good thus far this season. We have to step up and fight for our unbeaten run. We are ready to fight and take the points from our closest challengers,” said the Moroccan tactician who joined APR in July.

Victory today would see the army side reclaiming the pole position with 17 points out of a possible 21.

However, Hernandez has also warned that his Mukura side is injury-free and the players are in good form for the mission. "I have an injury-free squad. We are ready for the battle.”

"This is our biggest game so far this season, so we won’t take any chances.”

Elsewhere on Sunday, Musanze host defending Rayon Sports at Ubworoherane Stadium, SC Kiyovu delight Heroes FC at Mumena Stadium, while Gasogi face Espoir at Kamarampaka Stadium.
