Team Aristide 83-89 Team Guibert

DIEUDONNÉ Ndizeye has been crowned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the 2018/2019 BK Basketball National League season.

Ndizeye, a star forward for two-time reigning champions Patriots, beat out his teammate Steven Hagumintwari, APR shooting guard Pascal Niyonkuru and former Espoir youngster Armel Sangwe to the coveted award.

The Rwanda international, who joined Patriots in November 2017, also came out top in the slam dunk contest after edging Espoir basketball duo of Fabrice Rukundo and Thierry Nkundwa.

The new MVP, Ndizeye, 24, takes over the reigns from his teammate Sedar Sagamba who clinched the award last year.

APR guard Sandra Akintore was named the MVP in women’s category, while her teammate Charlotte Nzaramba took the award for best scorer of the season, an accolade that went to Pascal Niyonkuru in the men’s awards.

In the meantime, Team Guibert ran 89-83 winners over Team Aristide in the All-Star Game.

Former Patriots head coach, Henry Mwinuka, was named the Coach of the Year. 

Moise Mutokambali won the award for the best coach in women's league.

On top of the MVP award, Dieudonne Ndizeye also won the slam dunk contest.

APR star Sandra Kantore was awarded as the MVP in women's category.

Team Guibert beat Team Aristide 89-83 to win the All-Star Game at Kigali Arena.
