MTN ‘Izihirwe’ returns with bigger rewards

Musicians entertain Kigali residents at a past 'Izihirwe with MTN' road show.

MTN Rwanda on Tuesday announced the second season of Izihirwe with MTN, a campaign launched to celebrate and reward its customers for their loyalty to the MTN brand.

The campaign which articulates MTN Rwanda’s mission of making the lives of its customers’ a whole lot brighter, begins today 21st October, and will run until December 20th, 2019.

MTN customers will be rewarded with daily, weekly and monthly gifts. They will be eligible to get Cash prizes up to Rwf 1,000,000, Cows, Phones, movie tickets, internet packs (GBs), minutes to make calls and airtime.

"We are always looking for refreshing new ways to deepen our connection with our customers, and what better way than to reward and celebrate them for giving us the opportunity to serve them. Izihirwe 2.0 will be bigger and better with even more exciting prizes for our customers.” said Richard Acheampong MTN Rwanda’s Chief Marketing Officer.

To participate in the MTN Izihirwe campaign, one has to Opt-in by downloading MyMTN App or dialling *140*6# to join the celebration for free and check points.

An addition to the Izihirwe campaign, MTN has introduced Izihirwe na Muzika. Izihirwe na Muzika seeks to entertain, while developing local musical talent and discovering new talents to help them grow to stardom.

"The campaign is not just to reward customers, but a way of celebrating moments in time that mean a lot to everyone in Rwanda. Music is the world’s universal language and connector and that is why we are using entertainment to bring Rwandans together,” Acheampong added.

Izihirwe na Muzika will comprise of road shows in the districts of Rubavu, Huye, Musanze, Rwamagana and later Kigali, with some of the best entertainers in Rwanda such as Riderman, DJ Marnaud, Social Mula, Jay Polly, Marina, Safi Madiba and Queen Cha.

Regional heroes will also stand a chance to compete in the MTN DJ battles and Open Mic competitions in their regions with the finale in Kigali, where winners in each regional category walk away with cash worth Rwf200,000 and Rwf100,000 respectively.

Regional winners will then compete at the finale and stand a chance to win the overall prize of Rwf1,500,000 and Rwf1,000,000 respectively.

Customers will not be left behind as they will be able to watch videos of their favourite Izihirwe na Muzika artists through MTN Videos, a platform that provides customers with unlimited access to high quality video content from different genres like Music, Movies, TV, Sports and much more.

Acheampong also urged local entertainers to embrace MTN Videos as a channel to earn money.

"With the future of listening to music and watching videos being online, streaming services will be a source of income for entertainers and hopefully incentivise them to make and share more of their content with fans.”
