Patriots have reached the second round of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) Qualifiers after beating Tanzanian side JKT on Saturday to register their third consecutive win in Group D.

The Rwandan champions joined Ugandan giants City Oilers as the two sides to advance to the second and final round from Group D, both having won their first three games.

In what is billed as the game of the group, Patriots and City Oilers square-off on Sunday for the top of the table battle.

In Friday’s win, small forward Dieudonne Ndizeye led the Patriots with a game-high 20 points, while Kenyan Michael Makiadi and American duo of Kenneth Gasana and George Wilbert added 13, 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Henry Mwinuka’s side started the campaign with a 73-64 win over Burundi’s Dynamo on Thursday before overpowering Hawassa of Ethiopia in a resounding 125-50 victory on Friday.
