Rwanda’s representatives in the talent show East Africa’s Got Talent (EAGT) finished second, within touching distance of the grand prize of the $50,000.

Uganda's singing duo Esther and Ezekiel won the competition. 

Five contestants had reached the grand finale. 

For the past nine weeks, the best of the best competed to win the competition but, eventually, the sister-brother singing duo won through public votes, following their performance of "When You Believe” by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Their performance left judge Gaetano Kagwa mesmerised, nearly losing his neutrality as a judge. 

On the other hand, Intayoberana put up yet another spectacular performance but it was never to be.

The Rwandan children traditional dance troupe, who put in a spirited performance to the end, admitted that the competition was tight.

Intayoberana also had put on a show with their smiling faces and traditional dance choreography, which saw them through the auditions up to the grand finale. 

Kenya's 9-year-old singer Janelle Tamara managed to come third, with Jehovah Shalom Acapella (Uganda), Spellcast Media (Kenya), and comedy-dance outfit D.N.A (Uganda) following in that order.

The concluded East Africa’s Got Talent is the first Got Talent show in the region. The Got Talent series are run across the world. Organisers are yet to confirm if the show will become an annual affair but, given the popularity it has already garnered, there is a high chance it will.
