Volleyball: REG release Ndamukunda, two others

Rwanda Energy Group (REG) volleyball have released Flavien Ndamukunda and two other players ahead of the 2019/2020 league season, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

The other two released players include Fabrice Nkezabahizi and Patience Sangwa. Also, on top of Olivier Ntagengwa who crossed to archrivals UTB allegedly after the two parties failed to agree on terms of contract extension.

"The technical team has decided to release the three players in the ongoing rebuilding of the squad. Their attitude and the team’s goals were not fitting. It was best to let them go,” the club announced in a statement.

"It is unfortunate that Olivier (Ntagengwa) also left the club.”

REG, who won their first league title in May, will represent Rwanda at the 2020 CAVB Men’s African Club Championships.
