Giants Rayon Sports and AS Kigali face off in the fifth edition of the Super Cup match at Amahoro Stadium on Tuesday.

The match, which is a curtain-raiser for the 2019/20 league season that kicks on October 4, pits last season’s league winners Rayon and the Peace Cup holders AS Kigali.

AS Kigali, will be seeking to rebound from their elimination in the CAF Confederation Cup first round after losing 3-2 on aggregate to Ugandan side Proline.

"I will be looking for nothing other than a win because it will boost our morale ahead of the new season. A win will motivate our players ahead of the new season,” said Eric Nshimiyimana, the AS Kigali head coach.

However, Rayon Sports’ new head coach Javier Martinez Espinosa warned that they have prepared well for the Super Cup clash and are determined to avoid a second successive defeat against their bitter rivals. He will be looking for his first trophy with Rayon Sports.

"This is one of the biggest matches and I have to admit that we have to play particularly well. The players are mentally, physically and technically well prepared,” Espinosa said.

The Blues recently played two warm-up games wining one and drawing the other.
