Proline Vs AS Kigali (Aggr. 1-1)

AS Kigali head Coach Eric Nshimiyimana has acknowledged that his players will need to be at the top of their game if they are to eliminate Proline in the Caf Confederation Cup.

The two sides face off Saturday afternoon at Lugogo Stadium, in Kampala.

Nshimiyimana, a former APR midfielder and Rwanda international, who is at AS Kigali as head coach for a third stint, is convinced that his men have what it takes to see off the Ugandan outfit at their own backyard.

"The match will be tight,” he admitted. "I believe we have what it takes to win the game and advance to the next round.”

He added, "We made it difficult for ourselves because we drew at home, so we have to do the hard work in Kampala. Our target is to score more than one goal, and ensure we don’t concede.”

The City of Kigali-sponsored qualified for the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup in July after beating SC Kiyovu to win their third Peace Cup title.

Nshimiyimana saw his side ousting Tanzania’s KMC 2-1 in the preliminary round despite both sides playing out goalless draw in the first leg in Kigali.

"We have had two weeks of intense preparations, it should not come as a surprise if we progress to the playoffs round. I have spoken with my players and again urged them to be confident and put up a strong performance, just like we did in the preliminary round.”
