Kigali Golf Club captain Davis Kashaka Karegeya, who is also the president of the East African Golf Federations, will lead Team Rwanda as the inter-club tourney against the Coastal team from Mombasa gets underway Friday at the Par 72 Kigali Golf Club.

The two-day golf event dubbed "Ocean and a Thousand Hills Challenge” pits two teams, the Mombasa Coast Team and their hosts, Kigali Golf Club team.

"My team is ready. The tournament is aimed at strengthening ties between the two teams, it also contributes to the aspiration of boosting gold tourism in the country,” said Kashaka.

From the Coast, the 21- strong team is led by Mombasa Golf Club chairman Symon Wambugu under their brand "Sharks” golf team.

The visitors will taste the 9-hole course – which is set for redevelopment to 18 holes starting next month – with four better-ball match play before the prize-giving ceremony later on Saturday.
