Proline Vs AS Kigali (Aggr. 1-1)

ERIC Nshimiyimana is confident that his players will correct the mistakes that led to the home draw in the first leg as AS Kigali look to upset Proline in Uganda for a slot in the playoffs of the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup.

AS Kigali were held to a 1-all draw a fortnight ago, and go into Saturday’s return leg at Star Times Lugogo Stadium needing a win or a score draw of more than one goal.

On the other hand, a barren draw will be enough for the Ugandan outfit to progress.

AS Kigali had themselves for the first leg draw after failing to utilize several scoring chances at Kigali Stadium, but head coach Nshimiyimana has said that "counting us out of the tournament would be a big mistake, especially if it is done by Proline.”

During the first leg, Bright Anukami put the visitors ahead early in the second half before Uganda-born Farouk Ssentogo, 26, equalised for AS Kigali from the spot in the dying minutes of the game.

"Frankly speaking, it’s going to be uphill task,” Nshimiyimana admitted in an interview with Times Sport on Tuesday. "But we believe we still got a chance, and we are ready to fight. We will do all that is possible to turn things around in Uganda.”

"We must go into the game with a positive mindset and total focus. We played good football in the first leg but squandered goal chances, so we now know what to do better and we have been working on it over the last two weeks.”

AS Kigali, winners of the 2019 Peace Cup tournament, reached the round of 32 after seeing off Tanzania’s KMC whereas Proline edged out Masters Security of Malawi.
