Six table tennis players have started a two-month training in China as Rwanda looks to dominate this year’s East Africa Senior Championships slated for December in Kampala, Uganda.

The six-player team that traveled to Hangzhou, China, over the weekend, comprised five men and one female player, all under the guidance of coach Jean Claude Bigirimana.

This is the second time Rwanda Table Tennis Federation (RTTF) has sent players to be trained in China, with the first batch having made the trip in July 2018. The programme is a result of partnership between RTTF and the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda

Of the ten players that made the first batch last year, only Aime Frank Bushema and Didier Hahirwabasenga are part of the team in China.

Full six-player team:

Devoir de Dieu Muyinsenge, Regis François Ishimwe, Aime Frank Bushema, Didier Hahirwabasenga, Kenneth Nshuti, and Josephine Mushimiyimana.
