Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) has arrested two senior employees of Musanze District over use of counterfeit documents.

They are Patrick Twihangane, the district human resource officer, and Vincent Nsengiyumva, the officer in charge of pre-primary education in the district.

The duo was arrested early Thursday, RIB spokesperson Modeste Mbabazi told The New Times.

"They are accused of forging documents, abuse of office, and favouritism," Mbabazi said.

He went on to say that the alleged crimes were committed in various times during recruitment of teachers across the district.

"They gave extra marks to some candidates, and deducted marks from other candidates," he said.

The two are being held at Muhoza RIB station pending further investigations.

This comes just days after the entire executive committee of the district – the Mayor and both vice mayors – were relieved of their duties over corruption, incompetence and gross misconduct.
