Former APR skipper Ismail Nshutinamagara is one of the twelve Rwandan coaches who are now CAF C Coaching Licence holders after passing evaluation in July.

Results of the evaluation were released Tuesday.

The 36- year-old, currently the assistant coach at AS Kigali, also played for SC Kiyovu, now-defunct Atraco and the national team ‘Amavubi’ during his spectacular playing career.

"This is a big step I have made in my coaching career, I’m very happy,” said Nshutinamagara.

"I will strive to keep upgrading my knowledge and qualification so I can keep contributing to the development of our [Rwandan] football. The country needs coaches who are qualified, but also who are passionate to find or create solutions to challenges our football is faced with.”

The evaluation course, which was conducted by Moroccan instructor Nasser Larquet, saw a total of 17 coaches failing the course and, they will have to redo the course and undergo evaluation afresh.

Also among the 12 successful candidates is national team skipper Haruna Niyonzima and SC Kiyovu assistant coach Djabil Mutarambirwa.

Niyonzima will captain Amavubi against the Seychelles in the preliminary round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with the first-leg set for Thursday in Seychelles while Rwanda will host the decider on September 10.

Other successful candidates:

Yves Namahoro, Wilson Byusa, Leandre Sekamana, Twagirayezu Jean Marie, Safari Mustafa, Aimable Niyirema, Rashid Kalimba, Issac Twagirayezu and Gilbert Tugirimana.
