Final  Uganda Vs Kenya 15:30

RWANDA’s U-15 football team will have their sight set on the Cecafa Under-15 Challenge bronze when they take on Burundi in the third-place playoff on Friday afternoon.

The game starts 1pm CAT in the Eritrean capital, Asmara.

Head coach Yves Rwasamanzi has hailed his young guns for impressive performance despite falling short to Kenya in a 4-2 shootouts defeat following a 1-all draw in Wednesday’s semi-finals.

"The boys showed character and fighting spirit throughout the game. I am not happy with the result, but I’m happy with how they played. The future for the whole generation is certainly bright,” said Rwasamanzi in a post-match interview.

He added: "Now we have to focus on the third-place match. We have no time to feel sorry for ourselves, and my players are ready to bounce back from the semi-final defeat when we take on Burundi in the bronze medal match.”

During Wednesday’s loss, Rwanda and Kenya played a 1-1 draw in normal time following Kevin Wangaya Injehu’s 46th-minute goal for Kenya before it was canceled by Sultan Bobo Sibomana in the 63rd minute.

In another last-four encounter, Uganda humbled Burundi 6-0 to set a final date with Kenya. Also to be played today at Asmara International Stadium, the game kicks-off 3:30pm.
