Friday KMC Vs AS Kigali 14:00

AS Kigali are facing an uphill task to go past the preliminary round of the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup as they take on Tanzania’s KMC in a decisive clash on Friday.

The game kicks-off 2pm CAT.

Eric Nshimiyimana’s side were held to a goalless stalemate in the first leg, at Kigali Stadium, a fortnight ago. To progress to the second round, the City of Kigali-sponsored side need a scoring draw or win at the Dar Es Salaam National Stadium.

Speaking to Times Sport in a telephone interview from Tanzania, Nshimiyimana admitted that his team has a mountain to climb, but insisted that the players were up for the mission.

"It is a tough challenge for me and my players, but we are ready. Winning – away from home –against KMC is not impossible,” he said.

Both sides had minimal chances of finding the back of each other’s nets in the first leg, something the Rwandan side will have to address if they are to survive an early exit from the continent’s second-biggest club competition.

The winner between AS Kigali and KMC will play either Uganda’s Proline FC or Malawi’s Masters Security Service in the next stage.
