Rwanda’s U-15 national football team coach Yves Rwasamanzi is confident that his side can get three points from South Sudan in their opening match of the Cecafa U-15 boys Challenge Cup that is being hosted by Eritrea.

Rwanda is in Group B alongside Uganda, Ethiopia and South Sudan.

"We prepared well for this tournament and had a series of friendly matches to test the boys against more experienced teams. South Sudan will offer a tricky test but we have enough to counter that,” Rwasamanzi said.

After the South Sudan clash, Rwanda will face Ethiopia on August 20 before wrapping up the group stages on August 24 against Uganda.

The two-week tournament, to be sponsored by the "Fifa Forward Programme” initiative, will be the first under-15 tournament to be staged in Africa.

The top three teams in Pools A and B will qualify for the quarter-finals. The inaugural tournament seeks to help the region prepare for the Under 17 AFCON qualifiers that start early next year.
