The National Football Federation (Ferwafa) through their ‘conflict solving committee’ has ordered Azam Premier League champions, Rayon Sports to pay their former coach Ivan Jacky Minnaert Rwf 32m ($35000) arrears.

Minnaert signed a two year deal with Rayon Sports in April 2018, but he was sacked three month later after the club accused him of undermining fitness coach Corneille Hakizimana.

At the time the Belgian sued the Blues but both parties reached an out of court settlement where they agreed to compensate him with Rwf13m but Rayon Sports management only managed to pay half of that money.

After failing to pay the remainder of the money, Mineart through his lawyer Olivier Mulindahabi took the case to National football governing body which has now instructed the club to pay arrears plus additional fines.

Mineart who is also a former Mukura coach said he wanted to settle the matter out of court but Rayon Sports management left him with no option.

"I tried until the last minute to find a gentlemen’s agreement but they were so arrogant which left me with no option but to petition Ferwafa.”

This is second time that Rayon Sports is being accused of failing to pay their former coaches. In 2008, Raoul Shungu, Rayon Sports’ most successful coach sued the club for failing to pay his salary arrears.
