Newly Promoted Heroes FC are keen to be a permanent fixture in the national football league, according to club President Fidele Kanamugire.

The Kicukiro-based side was promoted to the top flight league after a stellar season in which they lost only one match. However the club president is not keen to take that performance for granted given the competitive nature of teams in the Azam premier league.

"We will go into the season full of confidence that we can actually do well in the national league. We don’t want to make numbers but rather fight to stay in the league,” Kanamugire said.

The club also plans to bring in new reinforcement to bolster their squad.

Heroes and Gasogi FC will replace Kirehe and Amagaju who were relegated from the top flight league at the end of the 2018/2019 season.

The 2019/2020 Azam Rwanda Premier League kicks-off on September 13.
