Friday Semi-finals, Game 5 Patriots Vs APR 19:00

It is guaranteed to be a heated affair as champions Patriots and former champions APR face-off in decisive Game 5 of their playoffs semi-final series.

The game starts 7pm at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

The two sides go into the highly anticipated clash well-knowing that everything will be at stake, with Patriots looking to reach the local basketball playoffs finals for a fourth year running while APR eye their first playoffs finals since 2013.

The do-or-die game will determine the side that will face Rwanda Energy Group (REG) in the best-of-seven finals after the latter eased past Espoir to secure their spot last weekend.

After four games, Patriots and Karim Nkusi’s APR are level 2-2 in the series. APR won the opening and fourth games while Patriots claimed the second and third.

In an interview with Times Sport, Patriots coach Henry Mwinuka on Thursday challenged his players to consider Game 5 as the title deciding match.

"We can’t take any chances (against APR) on Friday,” he said.
