Volleyball: Gisagara eye winning start in Carre d’As tourney

Friday REG Vs IPRC-East 4pm Gisagara Vs UTB 6pm

Holders Gisagara will be looking for a winning start to their title defence when they take on UTB in the Carre d’As tournament at NPC Gymnasium on Friday. Kick-off 6pm.

The post-season tourney brings into competition the top four teams from the most recent league season, and this year’s edition will be contested by; Rwanda Energy Group (REG), Gisagara, UTB and IPRC-East.

League champions REG will face lowly IPRC-East in their opener at 4pm, same venue, while the women’s category matches start on Saturday.

In men’s category, action will also continue Saturday with UTB facing REG in their second game whilst Gisagara will be up against IPRC-East.

Last year, Gisagara won the tournament after beating archrivals REG in a thrilling five-set final, with APR upsetting Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA), also in five sets, to lift the title in women’s fray.
