Yvan Dushime Burabyo, known by his stage name Yvan Buravan, is arguably one of the fast-rising Rwandan artistes making waves on the local music scene, and grabbing the attention of music lovers.

This has come with a number of achievements and accolades, such as winning the Prix Découvertes RFI 2018 in France, among others.

As a way of appreciating stakeholders that have played a role in nurturing and boosting his career, the artiste hosted a media appreciation event, in which he invited various media houses.

The invite-only event was held at the poolside of Kigali Serena Hotel, Wednesday evening, July 17, where the ‘Just a dance’ hitmaker took the opportunity to announce his ambassadorial role for SIHCO, a local non-government organisation, that supports the needy, especially people living with HIV/AIDS.

At the event, R&B singer thanked his supporters, and the media fraternity, for believing in him.

"I’m so grateful to the media fraternity, which has been there for me throughout the journey, and I know that I wouldn’t have made it this far without their support,” he said.

"It is against that background therefore that I want to extend my appreciation to all of you and promise to keep cooperating with you as well as doing music that will inspire and give hope to all my fans,’’ Yvan Buravan toldThe New Times shortly after the event.

The event also saw invited media houses receive certificates of appreciation. It ended at around 9:40 pm.
