APR will face debutants AS Maniema in the Cecafa Kagame Cup quarter-finals Wednesday at Kigali Stadium.

This comes after the DR Congo Maniema finished second in Group D on Sunday, three points shy of title hopefuls Gor Mahia who topped the group with a maximum nine points.

Maniema wrapped up their group campaign with a 2-1 win over Djibouti side AS Ports, thanks to two first-half goals from Pame Kilangalanga and Tegi Lutanidio.

Gabriel Dadzie scored AS Ports’ consolation in the 71st minute.

In another Group D match, Eric Ombija scored the lone goal as Kenyan giants Gor Mahia beat Zanzibar’s KMKM 1-0 to sail through to the round of last eight where they face Green Eagles, Zambia, on Wednesday.

The quarter-finals start Tuesday with two matches, with former CAF Champions League winners TP Mazembe taking on holders Azam, while Rayon Sports will be up against KCCA.

From the last eight up to the July 21 final, all games will be held at Kigali Stadium.

APR sign new coach

Meanwhile, APR have signed a new coach, Moroccan Adil Mohammed Erradi, on a one-year deal.

This publication understands that the 40-year old, who starts his new job next month, will be assisted by his compatriot Saad Praince, and club legend Jimmy Mulisa will be not part of his backroom staff.
