Saturday REG 66-54 Espoir Patriots 63-51 APR

RWANDA Energy Group (REG) are a game away from reaching their third consecutive playoffs finals after taking a 2-0 advantage over Espoir in the best-of-five semi-finals over the weekend.

Olivier Shyaka led the way with a game-high 17 points on Saturday as REG beat Espoir 66-54 in Game 2, juts a day after winning the first game 85-52.

Game 3 is scheduled for Friday, July 19.

During Game 2 victory, Kami Kabange contributed 16 points, while shooting guard Chris Walter Nkurunziza added 8.

Also in semi-finals, Patriots bounced back to tie the series 1-1 with a 63-51 win over APR in Game 2 after losing the opening game 87-80 on Friday.

Should Henry Mwinuka’s Patriots see off APR, they will be reaching the playoffs finals for a fourth year running.
