Rwanda’s top seed Jean Claude Gasigwa expects a tough fight when he takes on Burundi’s Hassan Murisho in today’s semi-final of the ITF/CAT East African Money Circuit second leg at Novotel Courts.

Gasigwa stormed the semi-final after yesterday’s straight set victory (6-3, 6-3) over compatriot Justin Ntaheranwa.

But the day’s spot light was stolen by Murisho who knocked out the tournament’s top seed Duncan Mugabe after a deserved three sets 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (5) victory.

It was a big upset for the Ugandan tennis ac, who was chasing his second successive honours after last week’s triumph in Burundi.

Mugabe endured a frustrating morning, failing to find any sort of consistency against Murisho who looked in fine touch.

After the win, Murisho said, "I don’t know what to say. I’m very thrilled about today’s win. It was a difficult game but I’m happy I came through. Mugabe was my major worry so I expect a much easier game against Gasigwa,” the Burundian added.
In the other quarter-final clashes, Rwanda’s Dieudonne Habiyambere made light work of Kenya’s Francis Rogoi after a 6-1, 6-2 victory.

The 23-year old will now play with the winner between Rwanda’s Olivier Nkunda and Martin Dzuwa in today’s second semi-final.
