Rwanda last week hosted the first-ever Eisenhower Fellowships regional conference in Africa.

The gathering brought together eminent business persons, policymakers, diplomats, government officials, scientists and academicians from the region and beyond.

President Paul Kagame graced the event where he interacted with the Fellows on a wide range of issues especially Africa related.

The conference was organised by the Rwandan Chapter of Eisenhower Fellowships (EF).

EF is an organisation that was started in 1953 in honour of the 34th US President Dwight Eisenhower.

Delegates looked at Africa’s integration in multiple aspects of Globalisation such as trade, work, technology, governance and partnerships.

The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) which is scheduled to be launched next month was among the key developments discussed at the summit.
