Sunday results AS Kigali 0-0 APR (Agg. 1-0) Rayon Sports 2-1 Marines (Agg. 3-1) Rwamagana City 0-0 Gasogi United (Agg. 0-1) Etincelles 3-0 Hope (Agg. 5-2)

APR FC have been sensationally eliminated from the Peace Cup after playing out a goalless draw against AS Kigali, with the former progressing thanks to their 1-0 away win in the first-leg.

APR, who were last month edged to the Azam Rwanda Premier League title by archrivals Rayon Sports, now face the prospect of not participating in continental football next year unless the latter win the Peace Cup as well.

Should Rayon win the Peace Cup, APR will qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup because for having finished as the first runners-up in the league.

In Sunday’s rematch at Kigali Stadium both APR and AS Kigali failed to find the net in a generally dull encounter.

Meanwhile, Rayon Sports rallied to level matters 1-1 against Marines before going on to dramatically win the tie 2-1 late on. The result saw the Blues progress to the next round 3-1 winners.

Elsewhere, second-tier side Gasogi United reached their first-ever Peace Cup quarterfinals after eliminating fellow second division side Rwamagana City 1-0 on aggregate.

The two sides settled for 0-0 on Sunday with Gasogi progressing thanks to their 1-0 home victory during the first-leg encounter.

Etincelles beat Hope 3-0, which saw the Rubavu-based side reach the next round on 5-2 aggregate win.

Subsequently, winners from the round of last 16 will meet as follows in the next round:
