Mukura Victory Sports coach Francis Christian Haringingo has promised to correct the mistakes that led to Wednesday’s home loss to SC Kiyovu at Huye Stadium.

The Peace cup champions put up a poor showing in the first leg as they lost 1-3 to Kiyovu but Haringingo believes the mistakes that led to his team conceding will be avoided at Mumena stadium this afternoon as the Southern Province side seek to score 3 goals without reply.

Goals from Djuma Nizeyimana, Aimee Placide Uwineza Rwabuhihi and Jean Claude Nizeyimana were enough for Alain Kirasa’s team to inch closer to the quarterfinals while the consolation goal of Mukura was scored by Hussein Cyiza.

"Honestly, it is a difficult task, we have an uphill battle in the return leg in Kigali, but we still have a chance. I hope we can score goals over there and turn things around. We must go into the next game with a positive mindset and confidence,” Haringingo said.

The Burundian coach added, "We’ll need to focus. We played against a strong team, but in the return leg, we must do better than we did in the first leg.”

However, his counterpart, Kirasa has backed his side to finish the job they started midweek.

"The team was magnificent against the holders, moreover away from home, but we still have another task at home where we will need just a draw to progress”.

In other matches, new league champion Rayon Sports beat Marines 1-0 at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu, thanks to the 2018/19 Azam Rwanda Premier League top scorer Jules Ulimwengu; Gasogi United beat Rwamagana City 1-0; while Hope were held to a 2-draw against Etincelles.
