Rwanda’s men beach volleyball team has been drawn in Group L alongside Germany, Iran and the United States at the upcoming FIVB World Beach Volleyball championship in Hamburg, Germany.

The star duo of Olivier Ntagengwa and Patrick Kavalo Akumuntu will be marking their debut in the world’s biggest beach volleyball event.

According to Rwanda Volleyball Federation, Paul Bitok’s men enter residential camp on June 17 and will be jetting off on June 26 along with the pair of Charlotte Nzayisenga and Judith Hakizimana who will be competing in the women’s category of the world championships.

Nzayisenga and Hakizimana have been placed in Group D against the hosts Germany, Brazil and Spain.

The top two teams from each pool will automatically advance to the knock-outs, with the four best third-placed teams joining them.

The eight remaining third-placed teams will play-off in a ‘lucky loser’ round to determine the final four spots in the Round of 32.
