Tusker-Uganda has to apologise with costs

Editor, I would like to express my concern over the use of the old national flag. In Rwanda, displaying or using the ex-national ensign is, I believe, a punishable offence but it seems that other counties have continued to associate Rwanda with the old abolished flag.

Editor,

I would like to express my concern over the use of the old national flag. In Rwanda, displaying or using the ex-national ensign is, I believe, a punishable offence but it seems that other counties have continued to associate Rwanda with the old abolished flag.

This is especially surprising when some citizens of the East African community continue displaying the old flag. A case in point is the very big billboard in Kampala’s Centenary Park displaying an old Rwanda flag (see photo).

The sign was sponsored by Tusker Beer- one of the most popular beer brands on the Rwanda market. This kind of ignorance is completely out of question.

How can a Tusker sponsored billboard have such a grave mistake? Is that ignorance or simply an I don’t-care- attitude?

We, Rwandans are deeply affronted by this act. Tusker should clear this mess and even apologise to its Rwandan consumers ASAP.
