Holders Mukura Victory Sports will host second division side Unity in the opening fixture of the 2019 Peace Cup at Huye Stadium on Tuesday.

The match will get underway at 3p.m.

Mukura clinched last year’s Peace Cup following a penalty shootout triumph over Rayon Sports to win their first major title since 1992.

The black-and-yellow outfit finished third with 59 points in the just-concluded Azam Rwanda Premier League season.

Head coach Francis Haringingo told Times Sport during a telephone interview that his players were mentally and physically strong and ready for the challenge.

"With the support of our home fans, we are confident of a win,” he said.

In the other matches scheduled today, As Kigali will host Rayon Sports at Kigali Stadium, with Rutsiro-based Hope taking on Gasogi at Rutsiro ground and Interforce facing Intare at Mumena stadium.

This week’s fixtures are first-leg matches and the winners over the two legs will progress to the next round.

Sunrise were initially due to host Espoir at Nyagatare ground but the former dropped out of the competition due to financial constraints.
