Volleyball: RRA turn focus to Playoffs

RWANDA REVENUE AUTHORITY WOMEN VOLLEYBALL CLUB have turned their attention to this year’s playoffs after finishing the second round as table leaders of national women volleyball league.

The playoff games are set for June but the exact dates were yet to be determined. 

RRA lead the table with 46 points, APR are in second place with 36 points, one ahead of third-placed UTB, while KVC are fourth with 25 points.

Defending champions RRA have finished their games.

In the remaining fixtures, UTB will play against IPRC-Kigali and St Aloys,  while St Joseph will take on Ruhango and IPRC-Huye. 

RRA reached the playoffs after winning last two matches in the second round, against Kigali Volleyball Club 3-0 (25-15,25-11 and 25-11) and APR 3-1 (25-19, 21-25, 20-25 and 25-15). 

Head coach Christopher Mudahinyuka told Times Sport that they are continuing with the daily training routine.

"Our aim is to start strongly, starting with game 1 of the playoffs semi-final,” said Mudahinyuka.

The four teams that are vying for the league title in the play-offs include holders Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA), APR, University of Tourism Technology and Business Studies (UTB) and Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC).

Defending champions RRA will entertain KVC, while former champions APR will be up against UTB in the best-of-three semi-final series.
