Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente on Thursday received in his office Ron Adam, the Ambassador of Israel to Rwanda, with whom they discussed how best the two countries can enhance bilateral ties.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the two discussed how the existing cooperation mainly in agriculture, trade and investment, air services, cyber security and counter terrorism can be scaled up.

The envoy commended the Rwandan leadership, adding that the Israeli Embassy in Kigali will help to materialise the investment projects in the pipeline as well as link more Israeli businesses to investment opportunities in Rwanda.

Ngirente hailed the Rwanda-Israel ties and reiterated the commitment of his government to offer full support to any potential investments by Israeli companies in Rwanda.

Adam is Israel’s first ambassador to Rwanda with residence in the country.

He arrived in Rwanda in February and part of his commitment was to promote smart agriculture, ICT and innovation as well as tourism, among others.

Since his arrival, Israel has launched a Center of Excellence for Horticultural Development in Rwanda with a plan to increase production through modern technology and research.

Israel’s top diplomat Yuval Rotem, the Director General of Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited Rwanda for the official launch of their embassy earlier this year.
