Of late,rumour has been circulating that Urban Boys’ days could be over, stemming from the fact the group’s frontman Humble Jizzo, real name James Manzi, left for the United States with his family.
This followed a lot of speculations, that the singer would permanently stay in America, to mark the end of Urban Boys.
Humble Jizzo, however, has since come out to dismiss all rumor surrounding the group’s possible split and clarified he only traveled for family affairs but was hesitant to provide details.
He further revealed to The New Times that he, and his family have no plans to settle in the US, and plan to come back to Kigali ‘early next week’.
"That’s not true. They [our fans] all know that I am coming back,” he said in an interview.
Last week, the singer also shared a photo posing with American musician Snoop Dogg, that left many talking on social media.
Asked if he and Snoop Dogg, planning to work on something big in terms of music, the singer answered, "for (music) projects, we haven’t planned anything yet but who knows?”
It is nearly two years, since Safi Madiba left Urban Boyz to go solo and the group, now made up of the duo Nizzo Muhamed and Humble Jizzo, have since shown no sign of recovering from the loss of their lead singer, now signed under the Mane management, and their potential, consistency and fan base has since been fading.
Since Madiba’s departure, the group has only produced five songs in a space of two years, including, Kigali Love, Forever, Nta Kibazo among others.
Humble Jizzo, however, noted that 2019 will be a different one for both Urban Boys and their supporters as he highlighted many projects, which the group plans to release from their own studio Urban Record.
"We have so many good things for our fans, including projects pending in the studio which we believe they will like. This year will be a remarkable one for Urban Boys as we have plenty of good things like a number of concerts. I don’t mean that we were not delivering good things for our fans, previously but this year is going to be different. Surprises can be expected, "he said.
