Nyirangarama Tare Sprint Rally to rev off in Rulindo

For the first time, Rulindo District will become a hive for rally this Saturday as the Nyirangarama Tare Sprint Rally takes centre stage.

The one-day sprint rally is organised by Enterprise Urwibutso in partnership with Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC) and Rulindo District.

Fourteen crews registered to take part of the race.

According to Fernand Rutabingwa, the course clerk, the racers will compete through the sectors of Shyorongi, Tare and Nyange.

Among the favourites of the rally’s line-up is Gianca team crew of Belgian Giancarlo Davite, navigated by Yan Demester in their Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10.

Retired driver Elefter Mitraros and Paolo Paganin will be cruising a Subaru Impreza N10. The crew are winners of the 2012 Mountain Gorilla Rally.

Last season’s National Rally Champion Din Imitiaz, in his Toyota Avensis, will also be targeting to win the opening event on the 2019 national calendar.

Other prominent contenders include; the crew of Yoto Fabrice and Peter Kabagire (Subaru Impreza Gc8) as well as Jean Claude Gakwaya and his pace reader Jean Claude Mugabo in their Subaru Impreza N12.
