Gisagara interim coach Elam Byiringiro has urged his players to turn attention to Play-off Games following his side’s stunning triumph at the just concluded CAVB Zone V Men’s Volleyball Club Championship at Amahoro Stadium.

The 2019 volleyball playoffs resume on March 9.

The two-time reigning league champions lifted the title of the 2019 regional tournament after outclassing local rivals Rwanda Energy Group (REG) in the final on Saturday.

In an interview with Times Sport on Monday, Byiringiro said that the Zone V title boosted his team’s morale, before appealing to his players that there was ‘no time to relax’ until the league title is retained.

In the ongoing playoffs, champions Gisagara are battling hopefuls UTB for a final berth while REG have been pitted against IPRC-West in the other best-of-three last four series.

UTB beat Gisagara in Game 1 a fortnight ago, while Benon Mugisha’s REG edged IPRC-West.

Giagara won the 2017/2018 national league title after edging REG in playoff finals.
