Div2 League: Gasogi rout Esperance to remain top

Forward and captain Marc Nkubana was on target twice to inspire Gasogi United to a comfortable 3-0 win over Esperance in second division league at Mumena Stadium on Saturday.

The victory ensured Marcel Lomami’s side stayed at the summit of Pool A with 29 points, one ahead of Vision FC who beat Aspor 2-0 – same venue.

Youngster Nkubana opened the scoring for Gasogi after 28 points, and it took him only 12 minutes to double his side’s lead. Both sides went for half-time break with Gasogi leading 2-0.

Noah Gashugi stamped his name on the score-sheet in the 72nd minute to complete the heavy defeat for the former Azam Rwanda Premier League side.
