Banque Populaire Atlas Mara has reopened their two branches at Gisozi and Nyabugogo, some of their busiest branches in Kigali.

The branches were temporarily closed in November last year such that they could be face lifted and widened to accommodate the increasing number of clients that flocked in.

At the reopening of Gisozi Branch yesterday, Shema Mugisha the Country Head of Retails at Bank Populaire said the two branches were becoming too small and outdated to fit the number of clients that flocked in.

"Gisozi and Nyabugogo branches are one of our busy branches in the city. We face lifted and widened them such that our clients can have better services” Mugisha said.

He added that Banque Populaire will continue to widen and facelift more branches depending on what the clients want.

Lomoire Mukwiye, the head of shareholders at Gisozi Branch appreciated the reopening of the innovated branches saying that it was the client themselves who suggested the innovation of the branches.

"Most of us have been with Banque Populaire for decades and the policy is that we suggest the to the administration the way we want to be served” he said.

Banque Populaire is one of the oldest banks in the country whose clients that opened accounts in the bank before 31 August 2007 are shareholders in it who recently shared thari shares.

Mukwiye called upon more account holders who qualify to be shareholders to register with the nearby branches such they can have their shares.

"The time was extended for about one more month for those who missed the registration recently” he said.

Mata Cyemezo, a client said the two months without the operation of the branch in Gisozi are worth the new branches.

"Service delivery is good as usual but there is enough parking now; enough space inside; more VIP rooms and we’re happy for it” she said.

There are over 10,000 cleints registered at Gisozi branch and over 7000 registered at Nyabugogo Branch according to Mugisha.

During the closure of the two branches, Nyabugogo and Gisozi clients have been going to Kinamba, an outlet of Gisozi Branch.
