It will be a now-or-never clash this afternoon when Rwandan champions Gisagara face league rivals Kirehe in quarter-finals of the ongoing CAVB Zone 5 Men’s Club Championship.

The two sides go head-to-head at 2pm, at Amahoro Indoor Stadium in Kigali.

Jean de Dieu Bagirishya’s Kirehe reached the last eight after finishing second in Group D on Thursday, while Gisagara toped Group B to book ticket to quarter-finals.

Most of the teams are taking part in the championship as part of their preparations ahead of the main Africa Club Championships, which will be held in Cairo in April.

Rwanda Energy Group were the first team to advance to semi-finals – which are due on Friday night – after edging out compatriots APR in four (3-1) sets on Friday morning.

By press time, the second quarter-final clash between UTB (Rwanda) and Uganda's Nemo Stars was yet to get underway.
