Kigali-based media personality, deejay and emcee, Makeda Mahadeo has joined CNBC Africa, replacing Eugene Anangwe who had spent a few months working as an anchor for the business television.

Makeda’s appointment comes just few days after Anangwe was hired by a Kenyan television, TV47, as the Chief Executive.

She also comes in after CNBC Africa has lost two of its top anchors to BBC Africa – George Ndirangu and Maggie Mutesi.

Makeda, a Rwandan-Jamaican, produced and presented the popular radio show, The SWiTCH for five years on Contact FM, co-anchored and co-produced the breakfast television show, Rise and Shine Rwanda, and was also among the first female DJs in Rwanda.
