Rwanda international Emery Bayisenge has completed his move to Saif Sporting Club, in a deal that will see him featuring for the Bangladeshi side until 2021.

The 25-year signed the two-year contract on Thursday after passing medical tests.

Speaking to Times Sport in an exclusive telephone interview, Bayisenge said he looked forward to his first appearance for the club, and was happy for the opportunity to improve his football level in the Asian country.

The Bangladesh Football Premier League side is coached by former Amavubi head coach Johnny McKinstry.

"I am happy to reconnect with McKinstry [Johnny], we previously had a good working relationship. He told me that Sporting are a good club with great vision and big ambitions, and I look forward to contributing to the best of my ability,” said the former APR central defender.

Bayisenge was one of the most influential players in Amavubi during McKinstry’s tenure as head coach. McKinstry guided hosts Rwanda to quarter-finals of the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals tournament.

The former Isonga and APR central defender joins Saif Sporting Club after six months without a club since last June when he parted company with Morocco’s second tier side Jeunesse Sportive d’El Massira.
