Mukura Victory Sports head coach Francis Christian Haringingo has expressed optimism that his side can win their three previously rescheduled matches after coming from behind to win the southern derby 2-1 against Amagaju on Sunday at Huye Stadium.

Mukura snatched victory thanks to goals from Gael Duhayindavyi in the 67th minute (a spot kick following a foul on captain Hussein Ciza) and Ciza in the 85th minute following a Duhayindavyi assist.

Amagaju had struck first, in the 19th minute through Jean de Dieu Munezero from a Tresor Ndikumana assist.

Mukura saw a number of their league matches rescheduled earlier in the season due to their involvement in continental football.

They have since lost one league game this season.

"We will need to work on players’ motivation and recuperation, which are the most important things for us now. To prepare the players mentally will be critical these days because they are tired and matches are coming thick and fast,” he said.

Haringingo added: "We don’t have adequate time for training, so it’s just to prepare them mentally. We are still in the running for the league title and we can’t afford a slip-up at the moment.”

"The target is to win as many games as possible. All the three remaining games are a must-win for us. There’s fatigue in the team but I am trying to rotate the players to try and get good results,” he noted.

Mukura are in third place with 29 points three behind second placed Rayon Sports and six behind leaders APR.

The Huye based side will play their next game against Musanze FC on Wednesday while they will host Etincelles later in the week before travelling to Gicumbi.
